Colswine is a porcine hydrolyzed collagen dietary supplement that increases tissue collagen synthesis by protecting it from degradation
COLSWINE is a dietary supplement based on:
- Pig Hydrolyzed Collagen;
- SCF: Bamboo, Nettle, MSM (MethylSulfonyl Methane);
- OPC (Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins);
- Vitamin C;
- Vitamin E.
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body and holds the tissues of our body together, forming the tissue structure of the musculoskeletal system (bones, cartilage, muscles, tendons, ligaments), protective and supportive tissues (skin and subcutis), and also tissues with specific function (gums, dentin…).
The percentage of the protein share in the various tissues is as follows:
- skin and subcutis 72%;
- cartilage 50%;
- bone 23%.
HYDROLYZED PIGEAN COLLAGEN contained in COLSWINE is easily utilized by humans: the pig genome is very similar to the human genome, making this type of collagen extremely histocompatible with humans.
BAMBOO, NETTLE, VITAMIN C: Bamboo contains the highest percentage of organic silicon; nettle contains a fair amount and promotes its absorption.
The triple helix of collagen is made compact and stable by a particular sequence of amino acids. Every third amino acid is glycine, and most of the remaining amino acids are proline and hydroxyproline. The body produces its own collagen every day, but as production declines with age, the available amount of collagen quickly becomes insufficient and different parts of the body gradually deteriorate.
Hydroxyproline, which is critical for the stability of collagen, is synthesized by hydroxylation of the amino acid proline; the reaction requires organic silicon and vitamin C to allow the addition of oxygen: collagen synthesis is therefore silicon-dependent; Silicon is a structural element of connective tissue and enters into the constitution of major macromolecules such as elastin, collagen, proteoglycans, and glycoproteins, promoting their regeneration. Silicon content is closely correlated with the optimal condition of the skin, such as the rate of hydration, elasticity, absence of wrinkles and expression lines, and the capacity for healing and regeneration. In addition, silicon plays a relevant role on bone metabolism: it hinders osteoporosis by inhibiting the activity of osteoclasts and stimulating that of osteoblasts.
MSM (MethylSulfonyl Methane) is a form of biologically active sulfur, basically organic sulfur in its natural form, which is naturally present in many varieties of fruits and vegetables, but in cooking and food preparation steps it is easily degraded.
It can be easily integrated into the body without causing allergic side effects. Sulfur is present in keratins, proteins for the constitution of nails and hair. It also turns out to be physiologically present at the joint level, being part of chondroitin sulfate, a valuable constituent molecule of cartilage.
Vitamin E, along with vitamin C, contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress; Vitamin C also contributes to normal collagen formation for normal function of bones, blood vessels, cartilage, skin, teeth and gums.
OPCs (oligomeric proanthocyanidins) extracted from the bark of Maritime Pine and Vitis Vitifera both with antioxidant action. OPCs have a high affinity for the amino acid hydroxyproline, found in collagen and elastin, and selectively bind these two proteins, protecting them from enzymatic degradation and free radical damage. Collagen and elastin also assist in building vessel walls and keeping them strong and elastic.
Vitis Vinifera, properties:
- micro-circulation function (leg heaviness);
- antioxidant;
- regular function of the cardiovascular system;
- integrity and functionality of cell membranes;
- skin trophism and functionality;
- counteracting disorders of the menstrual cycle;
- joint function.
Hydrolyzed collagen (CH) of porcine origin is characterized by high dietary absorption. Bioavailability studies show that intestinal absorption of ingested CH rises to 82% within the first 6 hours after ingestion (Zeijdner E.E. “Digestibility of collagen hydrolysate during passage through a dynamic gastric and small intestinal model (TIM-1).” TNO Nutrition and food Research Report. June 24, 2002.) and 95% over 12 hours (Oesser S., Adam M., Babel W. and Seifert J. “Oral Administration of 14C Labelled Gelatin Hydrolysate Leads to an Accumulation of Radioactivity in Cartilage of Mice (C57/BL)” American Society for Nutritional Sciences. 1999:1891-1895.)
Colswine is a dietary supplement based on hydrolyzed collagen of porcine origin, a collagen readily used by humans (the porcine genome is very similar to the human genome, making this type of collagen extremely histocompatible with humans) organic silicon and vitamin C that contribute to normal collagen formation, MSM useful for elasticizing collagen molecules, OPC (Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins) and vitamin E that contribute to cell protection from oxidative stress.
